The Townie was born from an idea that challenged the sacred geometry of bike design and created a completely different riding experience. With an upright seating position that lets you see the world better and plant your feet flat on the ground whenever you want, it sets a new standard in comfort and control. Although most Electra bikes feature Flat Foot Technology to some degree, the Townie showcases it in all its glory. Flat Foot Tech sets your feet forward of the seat-tube on the bike for a more comfortable, upright position.
The Townie is the perfect run-around-town bike. We know it can be hard choosing which model is right for you. How many gears? Step-thru? Balloon tires? Some people just pick their favorite color, which is cool. Choose from an Original or EQ equipped with fenders or lights. Throw on a rack and a front or rear basket and you have the perfect bike to ride to the farmer’s market, grab a coffee or to the next town over.
