Get the road bike out, join us this July, and let’s celebrate Le tour Together!
The Tour de France is the hardest & most prestigious grand tour in the cycling world. With 21 stages over 23 days, it truly is an astonishing feat of what humans can do and shows us each and every year how much cycling continues to progress.
Our annual Tour rides will be July 12 and July 19th.
Coffee and gathering at the shop at 8 AM, 8:30 ROLL!! Bring your favorite shareable and beverages for post ride BBQ & watch party!
Join us! Sunday, July 12 (technically stage nine)
8 AM for Pretty Great coffee at the Bicycle Emporium, 8:30 roll.
-We will do a 55 mile loop on our lovely country roads out towards camp far west. This will be a spirited ride but we will roll out together as a group and there will be three regroups on the route with one spot at about mile 35 to get water.
-There will also be a 30 mile route option. For the shorter route turn left onto McCourtney after Big Ben road and then head back up Wise to the bike shop.
There will be multiple regroups, but this is NOT a sanctioned ride. Download the route or ride with a buddy! We will not be racing but as groups naturally form on the road, make sure you have your directions and tools to be self sufiecent 🙂
Bring your friends let’s get a great group out on the road! Post ride expect a barbecue and watching the stage at the shop!
The longer route- 55 miles, 3700 ft/elev.
Polka Dot Ride!! With just a few stages left in the tour… the climbs matter 😉 We will ride for our own polka dot climbers jersey (in spirit) and get the most out of the foothills!
Join us for a spirited a ride, with low traffic roads and plenty of beautiful climbs.
Again, this IS NOT a sanctioned ride. We will have multiple regroups, but as this is a climbing route, the group will naturally split up. PLEASE PRACTICE GREAT ettiquete on the road, look out for one another, and make it a great ride. DOWNLOAD the route or look at the map! If you’re not feeling it, there are plenty of options to loop back early and still have an AMAZING ride.
This ride will be 66 miles & 6700 ft/elev.
Leave the shop, head up towards Colfax, climb Norton Grade, climb Lower Colfax, down Rattlesnake and Dog bar, and back to the shop! There are PLENTY of options to loop back before/in Colfax and come back home Placer hills road. OR, get your climbing legs on and join us!!
We will regroup in Applegate @ the fire station, Colfax @ Train depot , @Chicago Park store, and again in meadow vista.
