Bill, I wanted to share this letter with you as it is as much about you as any thing else. You might not know how you touch others. Just to let you know. As of late, i have lost sight in one eye and it has caused me to reflect. When I see you in the bike shop, I am ashamed that I did not buy my bike from you. You were the one that opened my eyes to the art of Colnago. So, thank you. I have wanted to make it up to you, but every time I have thought I could...money got tight and I had to back off. Ernesto, My name is Mark Fulwider. I have been riding a Colnago President since 2006. If you look on Google images, Colnago President, the first two pictures are always of my bike. I love my bike. "The greatest bike ever made!" I blog it a lot. What seems so personal to me, is that I know, this is your name. Your name on my bike. I have been riding bikes 55 years. Almost as long as you have been making them. The man that first truly intro- duced your bikes me to was Bill Marengo at Bike Emporium Auburn CA, USA. A fine man and extremely passionate about your art. I want you to know that you make a difference to me. Your integrity as a designer, an artist, a man of family that empowers others by example and opportunity. Your passion runs through others until it reaches men like me. Through men like Bill... half way around the world. Thank you for my bicycle. Thank you so much.
"It's been a few weeks now since I picked up my new Colnago from your shop. I have had a chance now to ride it and put it through the normal paces. I've also started to appreciate the cool differences this build has. The aerodynamic optimization coupled with thereduced weight is delightful. It used to be a trade off. Anyway, The bike you delivered to me was completely "as specified". Perhaps not an inconsequential feat since, I have been accused of being a bit "anal" and detailed about what I want. You get bikes, you get fit and all the subtleties of rider anatomy/ physiology. Looking back - this is amazing. So Bill just wanted to say thanks. You are "state of the art" when it comes to customer service, cycling knowledge and delivery as promised. You a rare and an incredibly valuable resource. Rock on, man. "Hey Bill - Just want to tell you how much I LOVE my C59 Di2 that you got for me....to say it's changed my life would be an understatement...We had a Gila Monster Fun Ride thru' the mountains last week and my bike passed everyone on the worst 3 mile climb whether I wanted her to or not!!! So I saw this frame on line and wondered if you can get it in a 50s....matte black with neon metallic green - I want to take my Di2 components off my Cervelo RS and sell that frame cause I don't think I'll ever ride anything but a C59 again...thanks so much for your help in taking my riding to the next level....you were great!!!!" -janey katz

"Hi Bill, I just wanted to take some time to let you know (of course you probably already know) what an amazing team you have at Bicycle Emporium. I came to pick up my bike and bike rack with a plan to hit the trail immediately after. Again, friendly, great service...Billy helped me put the bike rack on my car (it only fell off once on the way to the River - haha just kidding). My bike didn't really fit on the rack but he new the fix - an extender bar - and wa-la, bike on the rack. I went over to hit the trail and was wondering what the ride was going to be like. In the past after I've picked up my bike at other shops, I've had a loose crank, shifting out of adjustment, and I forget what else. But my bike felt like new. I could tell a big difference in smooth shifting (and yes duh lol bent chain ring). Sooo, to sum it up, you have a great thing going on up there, a great team. Even the people that I didn't have interaction with, were friendly with the other customers (yes, I was watching 8-) , and all your employees just appeared happy.
