Buck for Bikes | 01.27.2010If you are 18 years of age or older, live and work/attend school in Placer County and are looking for a cost effective, parking-friendly, and healthy commute choice, check out the Bucks for Bikes incentive program. This program provides a subsidy of 50% up to $200 towards the cost of a new commuter bike and if needed, bicycle helmet, light, lock, and/or rack. The purpose is to get single occupancy vehicle drivers off the road and using a non-polluting, traffic relieving mode of travel. This program is brought to you by the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA), the City of Roseville, with partial funding through a Clean Air Grant from the Placer County Air Pollution Control District.
The Bucks for Bikes Application & Usage Agreement and Policies & Guidelines are available on-line at www.pctpa.org. Applications will be accepted no later than Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 5:00 pm. Please review the application and guideline criteria in their entirety prior to submitting.
Funds are limited and only those who are committed to using bicycling as an alternative to driving alone are encouraged to apply.
Should you have any questions, please contact Solvi Sabol, PCTPA, 530.823.4029 at ssabol@pctpa.org or Sue Schooley, City of Roseville, 916.774.5365 at sschooley@roseville.ca.us. |
