If you just read Bill’s Bicycle Emporium story, you know that his passion is for the custom road bike, and to take it even deeper, the Italian pro-road bike is at the top of his list.  Of course as a woman fairly new to the sport, you can imagine that walking into this environment might be a bit intimidating.  Well, my goal here at Bicycle Emporium was to fix that.

About 5 years ago Bill finally convinced me to leave the professional word of politics and come to the shop.  Although a bit green in retail and the cycling industry as a whole, I was quite comfortable with customer service, brand development and, for a lack of better terms, the people business.  So, in addition to learning the biz, I set out to enhance the environment at BE to even better welcome the entire cycling community, not just the hard cores.  I mean really, you have to start somewhere.  So, we as a staff took a look at our service and our showroom, we recognize that all customers are equal and our growing community of women cyclists is special.  We went on to start our Women’s Cycling Club, Bella Fiore, which has grown to nearly 100 members, and it still embraces each and every beginner cyclist.

It is also important at Bicycle Emporium to welcome families and children into the sport; don’t you remember your first bicycle?  We strive every day to make sure that each and every customer that walks into our store; mountain biker, roadie, racer, recreational rider, mom, dad, grandparents, BMX-er – every single customer, is greeted with a welcoming “hello” and is provided the best service possible.

Now five years later, I still may not to talk technical with you, but I can certainly find someone who can.  If you want a friendly face, want to learn about our favorite rides, events, clothing, and shoes… you’ve got your girl!  .

Thank you for reading my story.
